Film Synopsis:
A former baseball pitcher, in a race with father time, gives pro ball one more shot with the minor league St. Paul Saints. A last minute injury spoils his comeback and sends his personal life into uncertainty. He reluctantly agrees to help his friend Gary coach a little league team where he takes a young autistic kid, Rodney, under his wing and forges an uneasy relationship with the boy's mother. When the the Saints' pitching coach gets injured by a line-drive ball, the team calls on Lacrosse to serve as pitching coach--they have few other choices as baseball season is underway and anybody worth hiring already has a baseball job.

Then, magic happens ...
Lacrosse coach's one last game for the little leaguers, and his mentorship pays off when Rodney gets his only hit of the season--a tear-jerking home run to end the game. He then arrives late for coaching duties with the St. Paul Saints only to find out the manager has named him starting pitcher for tonight's game. Lacrosse pitches a klunky game but gets the win to the delight of the fans. Urged by emails and phone calls, the team puts Lacrosse into the starting rotation.

He goes on to have the summer that changes his life.
