Today almost all R&D departments of any manufacturing company use simple spreadsheets to run mathematical models and simulations. Currently most M&S are single on desktop application, do not allow consistent aggregation, use metrics that are uneven in scope, very case-specific and are not well structured. There is limited or no collaboration among different disciplines, engineers, scientist, designers and business management. These methods also create challenges for other non technical departments of a company to accurately interpret scientifically generated data.

US Companies are struggling to remain competitive in an increasingly challenging global marketplace. Computer modeling and simulation presents a key competitive opportunity for any industry. The high-end of the industries ecosystem has been integrating computer analysis into their processes for many years, but small and medium companies must also begin to tap the superior methods of large players by using computer modeling and simulation to replace physical prototypes. This reduces costs, improves products and reduces time to market, providing a competitive advantage. The steady advance of technology has substantially lowered the financial costs of entry to modeling and simulation, but there are still significant challenges in the software and skills needed to make effective use of simulation throughout the company’s ecosystem.

Upon presenting proof of concept the DOD will release 20% of the first 37 million dollar plus annual allotment on a 4.1 billion dollar contract. 250,000 is needed immediately for a scheduled 9th presentation for the DOD in Langley, VI.
