Description:
The Pet Product and Service industry is a recession resistant industry which is proven by its continued growth in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, overall spending grew by 6.2% from $45.3 billion in 2009 to $48.35 billion in 2010. The APPA forecasts growth through 2011 with total spending to exceed $50 billion, a 5.1% increase since dogs will continue to be viewed as part of the family and are treated and cared for like children.
We have been open for about 14 months in Austin, TX and located at the most high end shopping center in Austin called the Domain. We are currently have enough cash flow to re stock the same items we have been selling but we are looking to double our inventory and hire a marketing consultant to give us what we need to get the word out we are here and drive more traffic into the store. In order for us to grow and increase sales, we need to be able to offer a wider selection of products to our existing customers but in return for new customers that our marketing plan would bring in. This is also to ensure we stay more competitive.
We are looking to raise $20-30k in capital to grow the business.
$10-15k new inventory
$1,500 new POS system to directly talk to Quickbooks saving us time/money having to do double work
$7,500 hire marketing consultant/advertise
$1k add additional fixture to display new inventory on
We also are interested in expanding the backroom into a one person grooming facility to expand our services, offer more, and add additional revenue/traffic into the store. We have not yet received quotes for this but we are thinking it would cost anywhere from $10-15k.
